I Wish I Wish

According to the elements of the Communication Model
the meaning of a message is in the people, not the words.

If the receiver already has a predicate opinion on the context of the message
he or she is highly likely to interpret the message base on how he or she thinks of it.

So what's the point of an argument?
At the same time how to we make our stand and views known to the other party?

These questions lead us to the next segment of the Communication Model.

High-fear messages apparently produce more defensive reactions in the receiver.
This will then bring about distortion, denial, or rejection from the receiver.

HENCE, to be an effective and good communicator, the sender has to:

1. reduce the portrayal of seriousness or harmless of the subject.
2. reduce the likelihood or probability of the feared event.
3. the efficacy of the recommended course of action.
4. bring in more neutral words instead of being suggestive and opinionated.

We also have to look at what kind of person the receiver is.
The sender may be a good communicator,
but if the receiver is someone with high self-esteem and has feelings of indifference towards other,
this receiver is unlikely to get persuaded by the message.

Furthermore, the context of the relationship between the sender and receiver also plays a part in the delivery of the mesage.
All relational communication reflects four basic dimensions:

1. emotional arousal, composure, and formality
2. intimacy and similarity
3. immediacy or liking
4. dominance-submission

These dimensions are reflected by either verbal or non-verbal communication, or both.
